Each 90-min Cardiology Update will consist of presentations by experts followed an interactive case study where clinical decision-making by cardiologists will be assessed with utilization of an audience response system (ARS).   Identification of any deficiencies in attendees’ practice will enable faculty members to recommend changes and thus elaborate best care.

This educational series will address the overall need for improved management of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients with oral antiplatelet therapies. Efficacy and safety of oral antiplatelet drugs in the in-hospital management of ACS patients will be discussed, with new NSTE-ACS guideline recommendations presented.  In addition, emerging data (AHA 2014 and ACC 2015) from studies investigating the duration of oral antiplatelet therapy post-hospital discharge will be interpreted, with recommendations provided for prudent use of oral antiplatelet therapy in long-term management for prevention of recurring adverse cardiovascular events.
